Australia trails India by 59 runs at the end of day two.

Shaun Marsh was cleaned up by Ashwin with a beauty | GettyThe Indian team mounted a terrific fight back on the second day of the first Test at the Adelaide Oval after putting 250 on board against Australia.

The Australian team fancied their chances after seeing a pitch good to bat, but their hopes were shattered in the first over itself when Ishant Sharma removed Aaron Finch on the third ball for a duck. Then R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant combined to leave Australian batting in tatters.

Ashwin accounted for Marsh, Harris, and Khawaja in his 3/50, while Ishant and Bumrah picked two wickets each. Only Travis Head withstood the onslaught with 61* and Handscomb made 34.

The cricket fraternity praised the Indian bowling unit for their performance on Twitter.
