England and India are battling it out in the second Test of the five-match Pataudi Trophy 2018 at the legendary Lord’s ground. England is 1-0 up in the series after winning the first Test at Edgbaston by 31 runs.
After the first day was lost due to rain at Lord’s, the second day brought some sunshine and with it England won the toss and put India into bat first. England brought in 20-year-old Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes for Dawid Malan and Ben Stokes. India, on the other hand, brought in Kuldeep Yadav for Umesh Yadav and Cheteshwar Pujara came in for Shikhar Dhawan.
James Anderson sent back both the openers in the pavilion in the 6.3 overs that were bowled, before dark clouds descended on the Lord’s again and the rain stopped play. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli went back into the pavilion unbeaten on 1 run each due to rain.
On their way back to the visitor’s pavilion, Kohli and Pujara walked through the long room in Lord’s and the members in the room clapped for the duo. In a moment of amusement, Virat Kohli pretended to raise his bat at the audience with a broad smile.
