Pakistan's newest pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi is eager to make an impact in Scotland after retaining his place in the national squad for the upcoming T20 International series, starting from 12 June (Tuesday) at Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh.

A 6-foot 6 inch 17-year-old left-arm fast bowler recently featured in the home T20Is against the West Indies in April 2018 and had a promising start to his international career, after the U19 stint.

Afridi, who has now become a household name in the world cricket after his sensational show with the ball in the U19 World Cup 2018 and Pakistan Super League (PSL), is looking forward of doing the same in Scotland.

As the Pakistani team arrived in Edinburgh to adapt to the conditions, the youngster is confident that Pakistan will do well in the two-match T20I series in Scotland.

In an interview with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shaheen said before the first T20I, “I’m happy about being able to retain my place in the Pakistan side and want to perform well in the upcoming series against Scotland. We came here a bit early to adapt to conditions and we are training extensively to improve in all departments of the game.”

Shaheen also has a piece of advice for the youngsters. He signed off by saying, “As a youngster, I’m proud to represent the Pakistan team. In order to get a chance to represent Pakistan and succeed as a cricketer, young players must consistently work hard.”
