Jasprit Bumrah’s absence in the Indian team during the three-match ODI series against England will sting them, but the wellness of the fast bowler comes first. Bumrah had injured his left-hand thumb during the first T20I against Ireland and was ruled out of the T20I series at first, but after the injury was deemed serious, he was confirmed to miss the ODI series as well.
Shardul Thakur has replaced Bumrah in the ODI series, while Deepak Chahar had done the same in the T20I series, which India won 2-1. It is thought that Bumrah might only get fit after the first Test against England and might participate in the second Test at Lord’s. Bumrah has been an integral part of Team India since his debut in 2016 and made his Test debut this year against South Africa and managed to get a five-wicket haul while impressing everyone with his red-ball abilities.
Bumrah flew back to India for recuperation and treatment and has thanked everyone for their wishes and shared his feeling of wearing the blue jersey in a Twitter post.
Jasprit Bumrah wrote, “Donning this jersey is the best feeling in the world. Something that you just can't explain unless you have been a part of it. @BCCI #indiancricketteam Thank you all for your wishes. I'll be back soon.”
