Nepal Cricket team is all set to play their first-ever One-Day international game on August 1 and 3 in a two-match ODI series against the Netherlands. The Netherlands Cricket Board has announced that two matches will be played at Voorburg CC in Amsterdam.
As Nepal is going to make their ODI debut, they have been added to 12 leading ODI nations in the expanded ICC ODI Team Rankings with effect from June 1 alongside the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates.
The Netherlands secured their ODI status by winning the ICC World Cricket League championship last year. While, Scotland, Nepal and UAE got their ODI status after finishing as the three leading associates in the qualifiers of World Cup 2018 qualifiers.
The positions of 12 Test playing nations will not be affected by the introduction of the new teams. The table is headed by England, who will host next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup. India are ranked second, three points behind England, while ICC Champions Trophy winners Pakistan are in sixth place.
