After a pale Test series and some fight in ODI series, West Indies were expected to put up a more competitive show in T20I. But apart from dominating India's half of the chase, the visitors didn't play as per their reputation in the shorter format. It was India who won the game by 5 wickets at Eden Gardens.

Batting first, Windies scored 109 runs in 20 overs. It was their number 8 batsman Fabian Allen who emerged as the highest scorer with a 20-ball 27. However, the target did trouble India when Caribbean bowlers gave the hosts some early shocks. Rohit Sharma-led side's score in powerplay was very similar to West Indies'.

Shai Hope, one of West Indies batsman who was in top form during ODI series, was sent back after facing just 10 deliveries. His presence in the middle mattered a lot for his team. But an unfortunate run-out forced him to walk back. It was poor communication between Shimron Hetmyer and Hope which resulted in latter's wicket.

Hope flicked a Khaleel Ahmed delivery towards mid-wicket and called for a run, non-striker Hetmyer hesitated soon after responding to Hope, but the damage was done till then.

Soon after the picture of both the batsmen trying to get into the crease on the same end went viral, fans roasted both the cricketers and turned the picture into a meme:
