Virat Kohli's spirited captaincy key to success against England: Sanath Jayasuriya

Sanath Jayasuriya, the Sri Lankan legend said that the brilliant and spirited captaincy of Virat Kohli has made possible for team India to get the wonderful rhythm against England and win the series 4-0.

Jayasuriya told reporters about Indian team’s performance against England, "Team India is in rhythm. Defeating even a strong team like England comfortably," 

The former Sri Lankan legendary batsman credited Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s spirit for his India’s stunning display against England to claim the Test Series. Jayasuriya said in praise of Kohli, "He is a good captain and marshaling bowlers well. He himself is delivering good performances,"

When asked who will win the next World Cup? Jayasuriya turned nostalgic and said with a smile "of course Sri Lanka."

The Sri Lankan cricket legend was in Patna as a part of an Event, which was organized by the Dayal Foundation. Jayasuriya praised Karun Nair for his gigantic 303 not out in the final Test against England. Sanath rated that it was the amazing performance from Nair. He added, "It's not an easy job. One has to have tremendous patience to reach such a milestone," 

The Sri Lankan legend also praised Indian head coach Anil Kumble for his fantastic job as a coach. Jayasuriya said in praise of Indian legendary bowler, "He (Kumble) has just begun his new career as a coach. Just like he was a great bowler, Anil will be a great success in his new role as coach too," 

Saba Karim, former Indian wicket-keeper and team selector was also present there, who also join Karun Nair’s fan club, hailed his performance. Karim told reporters, "This young boy (Karun) has a bright future. He was selected in the team on the basis of his stupendous performance in domestic cricket and now he was created sensation by scoring 303 not out against a strong team like England," 

When asked if Virat Kohli should take leadership in all formats? Karim replied, "Kohli is capable. But, MS Dhoni has already been named as captain till Champions Trophy in 2017. When Dhoni leaves then Virat naturally will take over as captain in one day as well T20 too."
