On December 23, the quarterfinal opening clash between Gujarat and Odisha of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 was halted due to the bad pitch at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur.
After a ball bounced awkwardly from a good length and hit the Gujarat captain, Parthiv Patel, who was not pleased with the bad track of Jaipur and complained to the on-field umpires - Yeshwant Barde and CK Nandan about that.
An official from Rajasthan Cricket Association told Cricbuzz, "It was Parthiv who complained about the pitch after getting struck. They are trying to settle it using a light roller,"
During the course of the morning session, Parthiv Patel, who had played and missed a couple of times, few balls kept low and the boundaries didn't carry before he was hit in the arm.
