Aamir Khan starer film ‘Dangal’ already hit the silver screen and is getting grumble feedbacks from the audience and opponents equally.
‘Dangal’ is the biopic of the Phogat family, where Mahavir Phogat and his daughters Geeta-Babita, who wins Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in India.
Although 'Dangal' is based on wrestling, which features a scene with reference to the style of two legendary Indian batsmen Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag.
The national coach of Geeta Phogat advised that the wrestler should be defensive and change her technique in one scene of the film.
That time, the actor Aamir Khan, who plays Mahavir Phogat’s role in the film, also present there and strongly opposed the coach by explaining things with a cricketing analogy. Mahavir Phogat says, “Yeh toh wahi baat hui ki Sehwag ko bolo ki Rahul Dravid jaise khele. Yeh karne se na woh Dravid ban payega aur na Sehwag rehjayega (This is same as telling Sehwag to play like Rahul Dravid. This way, neither will he become Rahul Dravid, nor will he remain Virender Sehwag).”
While it is a tiny scene with the slightest impact on the storyline, a clever way of glorifying Mahavir Phogat’s wrestling strategies and at the same time connecting to the Indian audience is a good way of referring to two of the greatest Indian cricketers.
