The left-arm spinner of Jharkhand, Shahbaz Nadeem reckons, "My job is to keep performing and keep knocking the door. My job is to do well, perform and leave everything else to God."
Talking to cricbuzz, Nadeem said, "I've bowled well for the last three-four years. I've been playing Ranji Trophy for the last 12 years, so the maturity has also come. If I perform, the team does well. If I don't, my team won't do as well, I know that. So the extra responsibility helps me attack more and contribute more significantly."
Criticizing his luck, Nadeem said, "I can't do anything, but perform. It's all about the luck factor. Take cricket or any other sport, there's a luck factor involved. When I'm doing well, I'm not getting selected. The guys I'm competing with are also doing well whenever they get an opportunity. If they are not performing well, only then I'll get a chance."
The 27-year old spinners didn't even get sufficient amount of chances in the 'A' team as well. In fact, the players like Jayant Yadav, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav have stepped up and played international cricket, despite the fact that Nadeem has a better domestic record as compared to them.
Nadeem-concluded, "Selectors are trying new players. Jayant got a chance, a lot of new cricketers are getting chances. So I'm optimistic that my time will also come. I'm waiting for that call. If they'll call me, I'll do my best.".
