2nd April, 2011 is a day that is fresh in the memories of every Indian, be it the fans or the cricket fraternity or the players themselves who created history on that day at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, by defeating Sri Lanka in the Final. Social media has been full of messages from members of that Indian team, and fans have shared their favourite moments from that historic World Cup campaign.
Virat Kohli, who was then a youngster and still establishing himself in the Indian Team, is now captain in all three formats and is leading India to glory irrespective of format or opponent. Kohli was a bit late but probably posted the most emotional message of all, and it just shows how much he values that day in his career. Kohli won hearts by lifting Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulder and taking him around the stadium in Mumbai, and later said the maestro had carried the burden of the nation for 21 years and now it's our time to carry him on our shoulders.
