RCB and West Indies opener Chris Gayle has shared his views about his team’s chances this IPL due to injuries sustained by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul and them missing the IPL because of the said injuries.
Gayle, who had a lukewarm IPL, last year, was interviewed by Sportskeeda.com. Here are some excerpts from the interview.
On being asked about the preparations of RCB and himself for the IPL 10, Gayle said,” Preparation has been going good personally for me I just played in the Pakistan Super League. I have played a lot of cricket, so I know what’s required and when it’s required so that’s the most important thing in my point of view. Also, the most important thing for us is to be mentally prepared and win the IPL this year as well.”
On Kohli’s injury, Gayle said that he doesn’t know much about that, but he heard that Kohli injured his shoulder during a Test match and he would wait for a team meeting to take on any responsibility given to him.
Gayle also said that this year will be RCB’s year,” We’d love to lift the title this year. Credit must go to the team the way we went about it last year. Even though we didn’t cross the line at the same time to actually reach the final was huge.”
Other things that Gayle shared were his love for Indian cuisine like butter chicken and enjoying simple Indian food. He also said that his home ground in Bengaluru was his favorite and he loves to hit all the bowlers out of the park.
