R Ashwin will be missing the whole IPL due to a sports hernia and this has thrown a spanner in Pune IPL team’s plans for IPL 10. They have called up many new names for trials to replace Ashwin and you might be surprised to learn about potential replacements.
Along with previously reported Australian spinner Nathan Lyon, it has been reported that Jammu’s Parvez Rasool and Tamil Nadu’s Washington Sunder have been asked to attend the trials by Rising Pune Supergiant. Rasool has represented India recently in a T20I against England and has only played a total of 11 matches in last four IPL tournaments.
Sunder on the other hand picked 7 wickets in 9 Deodhar Trophy matches and impressed cricket fans with his ability to control the run rate and bowl at death. He was part of both India U-19 teams that played the World Cup in 2014 and World T20 in 2016, where India lost to West Indies in the finals.
Pune have also lost Mitchell Marsh due to his shoulder injury and roped in Imran Tahir as replacement.
