April 2, 2011 is a day that no Indian cricket fan will ever forget because that's when Team India lifted the Cricket World Cup for the second time under the leadership of MS Dhoni, who hit the winning runs himself and was named Man-of-the-Final for his unbeaten innings of 91 which guided India to their target of 275. Gautam Gambhir played the support role perfectly as he hit 97 after India lost the wickets of Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar cheaply. A young Virat Kohli also contributed 35 in an important partnership with Gambhir.
6 years have passed away but the memories of that night remains fresh in the minds of everyone including the cricketers who were part of history on that day. Some members of Team India's World Cup winning team took to Twitter to talk about the importance of the day, with Sachin Tendulkar leading the way, as it was his childhood dream to be part of a World Cup winning team and it finally came true after failing on five previous occasions. Here are the tweets:
Like I always say, chase your dreams because dreams do come true, and this was one of those moments in my life when it happened. pic.twitter.com/oNWKsYr6sw
