This dance step made its way to social media, grabbing attention of many which was then spread all over by people who shared vines and videos on social media platforms. And it got more popularized when sportspersons especially footballers hit the dab on field. 5. Carlos Brathwaite
The Windies cricketer made his debut with Sydney Thunders by taking two wickets against Hurricanes which was followed by an impressive celebration. Carlos did the dab to celebrate his two wickets. This is not the only time he dabbed. In a match against Pakistan Carlos celebrated Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam’s wicket by doing the Dab dance.
4. Tino Best
The fast and aggressive right arm West Indies bowler, Tino Best did a dab while playing for Hampshire in the NatWest T20 Blast match where Hampshire played against Kent in England.
3. Umar Akmal
Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal dabbed when he took the West Indies captain’s dab to heart. Well, this happened in a game between Pakistan and West Indies where the dab was first performed by the Windies captain Carlos Braithwaite while celebrating a wicket. Umar didn’t like this at all. In the second innings itself when he took 3 catches he performed the dab one after each catch.
2. Wayne Parnell
The Proteas sealed a solid victory of 142runs against Australia in Johannesburg. It was Wayne Parnell who took 3 wickets for 40runs and just that much, he also treated the crowd at the Wanderers in Johannesburg with a dab celebration. Another incident where Parnell dabbed was on his social media handle where he recorded his dabbing video. He posted the video from his hotel’s balcony in Barbados.
