Virat Kohli gave a witty reply to the journalist for his form as an opener

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli had given a stunning reply to a journalist who asked about his failures as the opening batsman in the T20I series against England. He said, “Maine IPL mein batting ki thi as an opener. Char hundred banaye the. Tab kisi ne kuch nahi bola. Ab match mein run nahi banaye to problem ho gayi.”

This witty reply by Koli was given to the journalist during the post-match press conference of the huge 75-run win over England in the third and final T20I in Bangalore. Comparing his brilliant form in IPL as an opener for RCB with the current one, he said, “That time people were saying ‘oh! such a revelation. Now I don’t score in two innings. Focus on others as well. There are 10 other players in the team. If I do everything so what will the others do.”

In recently concluded T20I series against England, Virat has managed to score just 52 runs in the three matches which even lower than the batting average in his whole T20I career.

The Indian skipper took the team to win the series even after losing the first match of the series. India wrapped up the series with a dominating win at Bangalore in which Yuzvender Chahal showed some brilliant bowling skills by taking six wickets. In the first innings of the match, the veteran T20 batsmen MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina scored the fifties and helped the hosts to reach a huge total of 202-6.

Talking about the series win, Virat said, “I am more happy about that (series) and not worried about my opening slot. If I had made 70 runs in two matches, would you have asked me this question? No, right? So just enjoy the series. It is a nice win for us."

It was a pretty demoralizing tour for England as firstly they lost the test series pretty badly by 4-0 followed by the ODI series 2-1 and now they have lost the T20I series by 2-1  as well. The hosts have whitewashed them in all the three formats of the game.
