Last year Bumrah took the most wickets in a calendar year by any bowler in T20Is. He took 28 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 6.62. Jasprit Bumrah is yet to score a run in the 35 international matches he has played so far for Team India but he already has 55 wickets in his kitty.
5. Lost his father
At the age of 7, Jasprit Bumrah lost his father Jasbir Singh. After his father’s death, it was Bumrah’s mother, professionally a principal who single-handedly raised her children.
4. Excellent performance in Ranji Trophy
A young 14 years old Jasprit started his cricket career but it was in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season that he came into limelight playing for Gujarat. Bumrah played exceptionally well in a match against Vidharba where he took 7 wickets. He ended the season as a leading wicket-taker for Gujarat.
