There have been many speculations surrounding Virender Sehwag that he will take the position of the Head Coach of the Indian Premier League team Kings XI Punjab.
But the former explosive opener did not show his interest for this job and has decided to will continue as a director cum mentor of the Mohali franchise of the IPL. As a result, the franchise has been continually in a search for a new head coach.
The franchise began with the search for the head coach when its coach Sanjay Bangar had refused the post a few days ago. Since then there was speculated that Sehwag may take over the post.
Former Indian cricketer and current Indian batting head coach, Sanjay Bangar has decided not to renew his contract with the Mohali franchise as a Head Coach.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, a key member of the franchise said, “We’re looking for an Indian coach. The support staff will be all Indians,”
In 2014, Virender Sehwag joined the franchise as a player and later went on to become the team’s mentor post-retirement.
