Former Australia captain Ian Chappell took a dig on Pakistan team management as well as their Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq because of the poor performance of the visitors in their ongoing test series down under.
Chappell has always known for his straight forward nature and adding to his statements he also talked about the first day’s play, he said, “This business that it’s ‘up to Misbah’ whether he wants to play or not – that’s rubbish – it’s up to the selectors. Is Misbah good enough to be in the cricket team? No, not at the moment."
Chappell left his captaincy forcefully during his tenure as his brother Greg was ready. He also went on to criticize Misbah’s batting, he said, "His captaincy is very ordinary and his batting is horrible – he should have been out."
He concluded by suggesting that the Pakistan team need someone better, he said, “Particularly in a dead series. The man’s 42 – give somebody who you think has got a bit of a future in the game a match at the SCG and find out something about them. But this business of waiting to see when Misbah wants to retire – rubbish – sack him if he’s not good enough.”
