After winning the Toss and opting to bat, Gujarat Ranji started things off nicely with both Samit Goel and Priyank Panchal looking determined to leave an impact early on Jharkhand. However, Samit Goel lost his concentration and gave a simple catch to Virat Singh off Vikash Singh and Gujarat were 62/1. After another 65 run stand Bhargav Merai at number 3 lost his wicket to Vikash Singh. In came Gujarat Skipper Parthiv Patel after the fall of couple of wicket. Parthiv Patel added 139 with Panchal helping Gujarat to 266, before he was found plumb in front of wickets. Patel's wicket triggered a slump and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Panchal was the top scorer for Gujarat with 149, Parthiv scored second highest for Gujarat with his 66. For Jharkhand, pick of the bowlers were Rahul Shukla and Ajay Yadav as both grabbed 3 wickets each.
In reply Jharkhand, with the help of Ishank Jaggi's ton were able to grab a vital lead of 18 runs on Day 3, apart from Jaggi, Ishan Kishan and Kaushal Singh scored vital 61 and 53 respectively. For Gujarat, RP Singh was the pick of the bowlers as he single handedly grabbed 6 wickets.
With 18 runs behind, Gujarat lost their man in form Priyank Panchal early, however, Manpreet Juneja's vital 81 along with Chirag Gandhi half century lower down the order helped Gujarat post a total of 252, leaving Jharkhand with a challenging target of 235.
Chasing 235, on Day 4 and Day 5 wicket was always going to be tricky for Jharkhand, especially with top order out of the form, talking full advantage of experienced bowlers, Parthiv Patel created pressure from the start. Jharkhand lost quick wickets for mere 6 runs. Despite a small partnership between Ishank Jaggi and Saurabh Tiwary, Jharkhand were not able to cope up with pressure and were all out for 111 runs. Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with most 6 wickets, followed by RP Singh by 3 wickets. Thus, Gujarat won by 123 runs and reached finals for the second time in Ranji History.
