Dilip Vengsarkar resigns as MCA vice president

Dilip Vengsarkar, the former Indian skipper, who has submitted his resignation as vice-president of the Mumbai Cricket Association after the Supreme Court order.

On Tuesday, the chief selector said in a short letter to the MCA, "In view of the Honorable Supreme Court order dated 2nd January 2017; I hereby tender my resignation from the post of Vice President of the association,"

Before the most recent judgment of the apex court of the land, MCA President Sharad Pawar resigned from his post after seeing this Vengsarkar also decide to step down.

According to the SC order of July 18, 2016, Pawar was not ineligible to continue as he had crossed 70 years age, as a result, he resigned on December 17, 2016.
