It's a day to celebrate MS Dhoni's successful captaincy: Sachin Tendulkar

Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar hailed Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision to quit as the captain of the Indian cricket team. The master blaster also congratulated the World Cup winning skipper on a magnificent career that India won both T20 and ODI World Cups under his captaincy.

On Wednesday, The Board of Control for Cricket in India had confirmed the decision of Mahi who has resigned from the post of captaincy.

A BCCI press release said, "Dhoni has informed the BCCI, that he wishes to step down as the captain of the Indian Cricket Team from the One Day Internationals and the T20 Internationals formats of the game,"

Tendulkar took to twitter and congratulated Dhoni, he wrote, "Congratulations to MSD on a wonderful career as a captain leading India to success in both T20 and ODI World Cups. Have seen him emerge from an aggressive player to a steady and decisive captain," 

Sachin added, "It's a day to celebrate his successful captaincy and respect his decision. Wish MSD the very best as he continues entertaining us on the field with his exploits," 

However, Dhoni will remain available for selection for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against England.
