By Rashmi Nanda -
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has quit captaincy of the Indian Cricket Team in all formats of the game on Wednesday. There have been many people who are happy with his decision and some are surprised but the former India stumper Kiran More, who is not surprised by the decision of Dhoni and said that MSD has actually set an example in Indian cricket for others to follow.

On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a press release that Dhoni has informed the board about his wish to step down as the captain in both the T20 and ODI formats.

The former chairman of selectors stated about Mahi, "When he retired from Test cricket, I felt he was good enough for another 100 Tests. But that's Dhoni for you. He has always listened to his heart and has always done things which are good for Indian cricket. When he quit Test cricket he knew that there are others in the team who can give better results than him and he decided to go,"

The Vadodara-based stumper added, "Even now, I am not surprised by his decision. He must have felt that with the Champions Trophy coming and the World Cup next, someone else, Virat Kohli in this case, can be a better choice to lead the team. And that's the reason why he has decided to give up the captaincy,"

"When you are so successful as a captain, it is very difficult to give up leadership. By doing this, he has actually set an example in Indian cricket for others to follow,"
