After outplaying the visitors, Australia is now looking forward to defeating Pakistan in the ODI series too. National selector Trevor Hohns has announced the Australian Team for One-day series after the Sydney Test. Aaron Finch and George Bailey have been left out from the 14-member squad. Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja, Chris Lynn, and Billy Stanlake find a place in the team.
Chief selector Hohns said, “This is an extremely important series for us as, following it in an ODI context, we have the Chappell-Hadlee Series in New Zealand and then, in mid-year, the ICC Champions Trophy, a tournament which we won in 2006 and 2009.”
He added “George and Finch were not in good form since last two series. We talked to them and they understand our perspective.”
While Big Bash league sensation Chris Lynn earn a call-up following his great form in the T20 league. In the most recent match, he recorded the most sixes in an innings during his knock of 98* in 49 including 3 fours and 11 sixes. Khawaja’s great run of form worked for him as he made a comeback in the ODI team. Billy Stanlake received a surprise inclusion. Tall right-hand pacer is currently representing Adelaide Strikers in BBL.
