Raj Kumar Sharma, the childhood coach of Indian captain Virat Kohli said that the additional responsibility will just make him the swashbuckling batsmen a better player and hoped that he will succeed as well in the limited overs cricket as a skipper, as Kohli take over the limited overs captaincy from MS Dhoni.
Sharma told ANI, “Virat is a kind of a player who likes challenges and prepares well when he gets additional responsibility and god has been kind where he has been successful in delivering. I hope he will emulate the similar success he had in the test format and play positive cricket.”
On Wednesday, MS Dhoni stepped down from the limited over’s captaincy, who has been maintained to find his place in the squad as the wicket-keeper-batsman for the England series.
Raj Kumar stated, “Dhoni is one the best captains India has ever had and Virat, who used to be vice-captain, learned a lot from him and I believe Virat is going to learn more on remaining calm and cool in tough situations, his presence on the ground would be very helpful for Kohli.”
All-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been also selected in both ODI and T20 squad, as well the experienced seamer Ashish Nehra returned in the T20 squad.
