MS Dhoni for one final time in a blue jersey tossed the coin, but couldn't manage to get the result in his favour, as England won the toss and opted to bowl. Soon David Wiley was rewarded for his strict line and length as Mandeep misjudged one and was clean bowled.

After Dhawan and Rayudu, Team India's most senior and experienced campaigner MS Dhoni and Yuvraj SIngh helped India to get past 250 quickly. However to up the run rate, Yuvraj Singh perished when he was batting at 56. While MS Dhoni on the other end carried the momentum forward as he helped India A to go past 300. In his effort to stretch India A's total to 300, MS Dhoni brought up his half century that too with a six.
For England, David Willey was superb with his line and length, while Moeen Ali was able to beat the batsmen on many occasion. Pick of the bowlers were Jake Ball and David Willey as both chipped in with couple of wickets each.
