Pakistan's fiery fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has criticized former Australia captain, who took a dig on the Pakistan test squad for their terrible 3-0 loss against Australia. Chappell went on to criticize some of the Pakistani players pretty harshly and he also suggested that the team management should consider sacking the captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
In recent times, Chappell has been pretty harsh in criticizing a lot of people. However, the fact remains the same that most of the things which he had said were not true at all. Even some of his comments have not been digested by the media persons as well. One of them comprises of when Chappell suggested the Pakistan Cricket Board sack Misbah from captaincy as he hasn't been coming out with anything different in order to make them win.
However, earlier Shoaib had agreed with some of the statements of Chappell like that Pakistan did lack grit. Yet, he took a dig on Chappell when the latter stated that the Pakistan should not have come in the first place. Shoaib tweeted: “Pak lacked grit: Chappell. I agree but not coming 2 Australia no remedy. England never won World Cup but doesn’t mean they shouldn’t participate.”
Shoaib also made Chappell remember that the same Pakistan team had drawn a series against England earlier last year. He tweeted: “Agree partially with Ian Chappell that Pakistan lacked grit but the same team drew 2-2 vs England less dan a year ago.”
