CAB to present Swarovski memento to MS Dhoni

Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni has given a smashing response to his critics with a match-winning ton in the Cuttack ODI against England. This ton will be one of the memorable points in the illustrious career of the Indian wicket keeper. He has always been the go-to man for the Indian squad ever since making his international debut in 2004.

Dhoni led the young Indian team in the inaugural ICC World T20 in South Africa in 2007. India clinched the title in the tournament and Dhoni was named as the next generation leader of the team.

After Rahul Dravid hanged his boots as ODI skipper, Dhoni was the ideal successor in ODIs. Soon after that, he has also become the full-time captain of the Indian team in all the three formats of the game. He also led the Indian Test squad to the number one rankings. Even the triumph in the 2011 ICC World Cup also came under his captaincy. In 2013, Captain Cool became the first ever skipper to win all the ICC trophies by clinching the Champions Trophy as well and that makes him the best and most successful Indian captain of all time.

As per the reports, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to felicitate Dhoni at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata during the third and final ODI against England for his illustrious career as captain, as earlier this month he decided to step down as Indian captain and handed over the baton to young Virat Kohli, who is doing his job pretty well till now.

According to the reports in Xtratime.in, Dhoni will be presented a memento and a scarf on the occasion. He will felicitated with a Swarovski horse by the Cricket Association of Bengal. Interestingly, CAB president Sourav Ganguly is one of the fans of Mahi. CAB has decided to make the ocassion even more special by inviting Dhoni’s relatives and family members at the venue during the match. The third ODI will be played on January 22.
