Legendary Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden, wearing a yellow tee and the traditional Vashti, on Sunday, paid his visit to temple town Madurai ahead of the second season of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2017.

Hayden, who is the brand ambassador of the TNPL, visited the iconic Chandran mess in Madurai to enjoy a royal feast, which included mutton biryani, chicken fry, crab fry, crab omelette, fish fry among others.

After enjoying the royal banquet, Hayden took part in many events during the day. He participated in a few special activities on stage at the Gandhi Memorial Museum and enthralled the guests.

As Hayden is one of the most popular figures in the state, he tried speaking in Tamil as well as tried his hand at 'silambattam' (stick-fighting). Despite having had a heavy meal at Chandran mess, Hayden also took part of an idli-eating contest. Not only that, the Aussie legend also participated in push-ups competition and outdid his younger opponents and won the contest. He also re-enacts famous dialogues of famous Tamil actors Rajnikanth, Ajith and Vijay and made the crowd crazy for him.

The second edition of the T20 league kicks off on July 22 with the defending champions Tuti Patriots locking horns with Dindigul Dragons at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
