Quetta Gladiators made into their second consecutive final of the Pakistan Super League after clinching a thriller against Peshawar Zalmi in the qualifier at Dubai. Peshawar lost three wickets on last three deliveries and fell short by one run in the battle for final’s birth. Quetta will travel to Lahore for the final match of PSL 2, which will take place on March 5.
But before this match as the English trio of Kevin Pietersen, Tymal Mills and Luke Wright opted out their names from the final as they don’t want to visit Pakistan for this match. They gave this information on their social media accounts.
Kevin Pietersen and Tymal Mills did well for Quetta Gladiators as the former notched up 241 runs and Mills ended this season with seven wickets in five matches while giving 7.25 runs per over. However, Wright’s appearance was limited for a single match in the tournament.— KP (@KP24) February 28, 2017
“Unfortunately I will not be traveling to Lahore for the final but will be watching from home and cheering on the boys who I know will fight just as much as they have all tournament,” Mills said.Apart from them, New Zealand all-rounder Nathan McCullum, who didn’t feature in any match, also denied visiting Pakistan for final. The leading run scorer for Quetta, Rilee Rossouw is in uncertainty for this match. Mahmudullah and Thisara Parera are busy with their national teams. Now, Quetta has to pick players from the latest draft of 60 players, who don’t have any issue to visit Pakistan.
It's with a heavy heart I will not be coming to Lahore. I have a young family and for me a game of cricket is just not worth the risk 1/3— Luke Wright (@lukewright204) February 28, 2017
