The Australian captain, Steven Smith clearly crossed the line by looking towards the dressing room for a feedback before taking DRS after given lbw by the on-field umpire off the bowl of Umesh Yadav in the second innings on Tuesday. He has now apologised for his behaviour.
Smith asserted that he shouldn't have looked towards the dressing room and he regretted doing the same. He said, “It was a bit of a brain fade and I shouldn't have done that."
The Australian skipper also acknowledged that he was not at all upset about the exchange of words between him and the Indian players, especially India skipper Virat Kohli, after the incident. He said, “As far as I'm concerned the game was played in good spirits and nobody crossed the line."
Even BCCI has given a new acronym for DRS, in a post on Facebook They wrote: "DRS - Dressing room review system?… Steve Smith tries to get some suggestions from the dressing room for a review. Virat Kohli is not impressed #INDvAUS".
