Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is helping the young Bengal side in order to make some strategies to tackle Jharkhand team who are playing under the leadership of 'Captain Cool' in the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Saturday.
The match was previously going to take place on Friday but due to fire scare in Jharkhand team hotel, it has been postponed to Saturday.
Bengal registered a phenomenal victory against Maharashtra in a high-scoring thriller and soon after that, the CAB president decided to mentor his team for the semi-final. The whole team is looking forward to it as Ganguly will have a meeting with captain Manoj Tiwary and coach Sairaj Bahutule to discuss plans to tackle the brilliance of Dhoni.
During a chat with PTI, a source from Bengal team said, "Sourav has already discussed a few plans on how to tackle the Dhoni threat with Manoj and Sairaj. No doubt Dhoni is a formidable player but it's not impossible to get him out. Dada will be meeting the team in the evening today and will also be present at the ground tomorrow."
Dhoni had played throughout the tournament for Jharkhand and even scored a century against Chattisgarh in the league stage. Talking about the preparations, Tiwary said, "This is a young Bengal team and they have learned how to play according to the situation. MS Dhoni is a legend but, on the field, one can't get intimidated by names."
He further added, "We have to stick to our plans and don't forget they also have good players like Saurabh Tiwary, Ishan Kishan, Virat Singh. You cannot just concentrate on one player and have no plans for others."
Both teams are likely to play with the similar combinations at the Palam wicket where toss can play a crucial factor.
