Sri Lankan selection committee has announced the 15-man squad for the home One-Day International series against Bangladesh. Soon after the conclusion of the ongoing Test series both the Asian teams will lock horns for a 3-match ODI series that is scheduled to start from March 25 in Dambulla.
The selectors have decided to bring back the trio which comprises of Kusal Perera, Thisara Perera, and Danushka Gunathilaka as they were left out of the Test series. Captain Angelo Mathews is still suffering from the injury and wasn’t available for selection and Upul Tharanga has been named as his replacement as the captain.
Sri Lanka pace spearhead Suranga Lakmal has been included in the team followed by other pacers like Lahiru Kumara and Vikum Sanjaya. Only one spinner has been included in the squad as Lakshan Sandakan, which is a pretty surprising decision by the selectors.
Although Bangladesh isn’t the team that will put a bunch of difficulties in front of Sri Lankan cricketers but still they should be aware of the fact that the Bangladeshis have played pretty well at home and conditions in Sri Lanka are quite similar.
