The 10th season of India’s biggest money spinner Indian Premier League (IPL) is about to start in a ma matter of weeks and the build-up to the competition has already begun. Many cricketers have started talking about the upcoming season already and Indian turbanator Harbhajan Singh is no exception either. In a recent conversation, Bhajji talked about the challenges faced by the bowlers face in the T20 format of the game, especially in IPL.
As per reports of the Hindustan Times, Harbhajan suggested that IPL is a difficult competition for bowlers, he even comes up with a solution for the same, he said, “It is very hard to be a bowler in the IPL. On such batting wickets, it is hard to contain a batsman. Haan, agar thodi boundaries badi ho jaayein toh acha hoga (if the boundaries get a bit farther, it will be good). Or, if they can make pitches that help the bowlers more than the batsmen, then it will be an even match.”
However, the veteran off-spinner stated that he still ready to face the challenge anyway. He said, “You have to take it as a challenge. You can’t say that it is difficult, and use it as an excuse to not perform. A sportsman must have the passion for performing, whatever the conditions or circumstances might be.”
Harbhajan also commented on the soaring high tempers in the ongoing India and Australia Test series. He concluded, “After IPL, players from different countries have become friends, and the tension in international games is not what it used to be. And even if there is something, it’s nothing but light-hearted banter.”
