Ravindra Jadeja is coming out as an ever more mature player in this ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he is leading the wickets chart with 21 wickets in first three matches against Australia. Amidst, all Jadeja has gained his career-best ranking after Ranchi Test, where he bagged nine wickets in the match which takes his rating points to 899, thus becomes the number one bowler in Test rankings.
Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi was in full praise for Jadeja and said he is getting closer to his teammate Ravi Ashwin and there should not be any comparison between them as both are playing for India and doing excellent for their country.
While interacting with Indian Express, Bedi said “Ravindra Jadeja has grown immensely as a player. He is bowling brilliantly and his contribution with the bat has also been wonderful. He is getting closer to Ravichandran Ashwin. Both are performing well for the side and supporting each other. So there is no comparison between them.”
The South paw is in between the form of his life as he has bagged 67 wickets in this home season so far, which is third most for any bowler in a home season. Only behind Ashwin and Dale Steyn, both have 78 wickets to their name. Also, he is very handy with the bat as well and played a crucial role in India’s dream season while batting lower down the order. He is placed third in the Test all-rounder rankings.
The series has set up nicely for a gripping final Test at Dharamshala as both teams are sharing an equal honour after first three matches with takes the score line to one all. The fourth match will kick off from March 25.
