Rohit Sharma, who was appointed as skipper of Indian Blue team for Deodhar Trophy has been been ruled out, since according to BCCI selectors panel the Hitman suffered a minor Knee Injury and has been advised to take a lay off. Earlier Rohit Sharma was injured during the final ODI against New Zealand at Vizag, and was expected to be fit for Australia Test Series. While, Kedar Jadhav who was impressive with the ball against New Zealand and with the bat against England has also been rested due to a stomach ailment.
The BCCI’s All India Senior Selection Committee has named replacements for Rohit Sharma and Kedar Jadhav. In place of Rohit Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad of Maharashtra has been included, while replacing Kedar, Bengal’s Sreevats Goswami has been added to the India ‘Red’ team.
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh has been named the captain.
