Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal heaped praise on India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his brilliant performance in the ongoing four-match Test series against Australia. He also said that Jadeja’s performance will be crucial for Lions’ success in the Indian Premier League 2017.
The left-arm spinner will play for Gujarat Lions in this season of the IPL and the Lions starts their campaign against the two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders on April 7 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
In Rajkot, Mr Bansal told reporters about new number one Test bowler, “(Ravindra) Jadeja has been in great form and doing well for the country in the ongoing test series against Australia. He was rewarded by becoming world number one bowler in the recently announced ICC rankings.”
Bansal further added, “He (Jadeja) has been in great rhythm and expectations are high from the team that he would deliver his best. His performance would be the key for team's success in IPL-10.”
He hinted that the West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo probably will not participate in the first two games due to an injury. Bansal added, “Bravo may miss an initial couple of matches due to injury.”
Bansal also said that the Gujarat Lions have a good team as well bowling unit as compare to last season and hopes that the Lions will perform well under the captaincy of Suresh Raina as he working hard in the nets.
He concluded, “Last time, our bowling was a bit weak and this time we want to make it stronger and chose players accordingly to strengthen our bowling.”
