Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is enjoying his post-cricket life. He has become a national troller on the social media platform since after his retirement. Sehwag has just signed a deal for a sports show, where he will be an anchor of this show, based on the life of India’s Olympic stars named ‘Umeed Olympic’.
This series will be shot over 13 episodes, which will highlight the journey of country’s top athletes aiming towards medals in 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This series will be on air in 2020 at Epic Channel.
The show will also feature stars from Rio Olympics, who represented their nation. In this show, Viru will travel to the training bases and interview the family members and coaching staff. Sehwag and his team will also visit the different federations of sports.
Recently, Sehwag visited Hyderabad to interact with national sprint champion Dutee Chand. The visit turned out to be a big motivating factor for youngsters training with Chand.
Former international judo player and Coach Yashpal Solanki thinks that it will spread awareness about Olympics movements in India. “Normally, the buzz is once in four years and that too just weeks before the big event. But the new programme will give an in-depth analysis of the entire journey of the athletes,” he said.
