Shikhar Dhawan delivered an inspiring performance as he led India B to a win scoring 128 in a Deodhar Trophy encounter against India A at Vishakhapatnam.
Batting first, Dhawan led the charge for India B as they scored 327 in their 50 overs. Parthiv Patel (50) , Ishank Jaggi (53), were some other notable performances. Dhawan’s innings came much as a relief as this now helps him stand in a position from where he can stake claims for an Indian team return.
He was going through a lean patch prior to this and this now comes just at the right time for him with IPL 10 starting in two weeks time.
Siddharth Kaul picked up a fifer in this high scoring encounter as his spell stood out amongst all the other bowlers. He finished with figures of 5 for 59.
India A fell 23 short of the target as they finished notching up 304 runs from their 50 overs. Ambati Radyudu scored 92 as Manoj Tiwary (37), Krunal Pandya (31) and Deepak Hooda (46) also came up with notable performances.
Dhawal Kulkarni picked up a hat trick in the final over to shred water on the hopes of a victory for India A.
