Despite the fact that the former IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings isn’t a part of the upcoming IPL, still, there will be a great treat for Chennai fans as now they can watch the match with Tamil commentary. Sony Pictures Networks India’s EVP and business head – sports clusters, Prasana Krishnan, told reporters in Chennai that former Indian cricketers like Sadagoppan Ramesh, Hemang Badani, and VB Chandrasekhar are some of the prominent names who will be among the Tamil commentators for this year’s IPL.
Krishnan also mentioned that the regional language commentary will be available only on the ESPN platform. The Chennai Super Kings team wasn’t the part of the last edition of IPL as the RM Lodha committee had suspended the owners of CSK, India Cements for a period of two years. Not only CSK, the Rajasthan Royals team was also dissolved as their owners also faced the same suspension as India Cements.
After a series of successful tournaments with CSK, MS Dhoni didn’t have much success with his new franchise as the Rising Pune Supergiants even failed to qualify for the playoffs.
The 10th edition of cash-rich IPL is scheduled to start from 5th April with defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad going up against three-time finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore.
