Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi made a big announcement on Friday evening via Twitter that he has separated his ways with his team Peshawar Zalmi, who won the second edition of Pakistan Super League in this month.

He led Zalmi in the inaugural season but failed to taste success. After which he gave up on captaincy ahead of this season. However, Darren Sammy led this team to triumph in this season. He sighted personal reasons as his reason for ending his tenure with the team.

The 37-year-old gave a hint to join a new team in the upcoming season. Though, he advised his fans to follow him there as well:

The all-rounder didn’t talk about it with team owner Javed Afridi and Captain Darren Sammy as latter expressed this on his social media page. Sammy wrote:

Afridi didn’t have a good season with his team and got injured while fielding during the qualifier 2 against Islamabad United. His form was below average with both bat and ball.
