Out of favour Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan is not having a good time since long. First, he was sacked from the Indian team and followed it with poor runs in the domestic cricket as well. However, selectors called him to play for India Blue in Deodhar Trophy, which commenced today.
Against the odds, Dhawan notched up a stylish century while batting in the opening encounter against India ‘A’. His team was asked to bat first and he shared a 93-run opening stand with skipper Parthiv Patel, who scored 50 off 48.
Dhawan didn’t stop here as he shared another big stand of 103 runs with young Ishank Jaggi before getting a ton off 114 balls. His innings ended after 122 balls with a score of 128 runs including 13 fours and three sixes.
This innings from the 31-year-old should increase the headache for Indian selectors for Indian squad ahead of the Champions Trophy. He has to maintain the same form in the upcoming Indian Premier League to get another national call.
