It was an absorbing second day of Test match cricket in the fourth and final Test between India and Australia at Dharmasala. At stumps, India are still trailing by 52 as Australia are looking to gain to upper hand in the Test match.
Earlier in the day, India started the day with the score board on 0. After a fighting day of Test match India finished the day on 248 for 6 with contributions from KL Rahul (60), Cheteshwar Pujara (57) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (46). Some attacking cricket in the last session of play from the Indian lower order helped them bring the deficit within touching distance.
India lost four wickets in the final session post tea with Nathan Lyon taking all four of them. It was the constant pressure from the two pacers in Cummins and Hazelwood which helped Lyon to take the wickets at the other end. There was some good short pitch bowling both from Cummins and Hazelwood which challenged the Indian batsmen all throughout the day.
This sets up an exciting day of cricket on Day 3 of the Test match. Australia will look to bundle out India as soon as possible and will look to force the issue. With Saha and Jadeja fighting it out at the wicket for India, they will look to play some gutsy cricket and take India close to the Australian first innings total.
