Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is going through a purple patch of his Test career which has been continued throughout this whole home season. On Sunday joined an elite club of all-rounders during his unbeaten innings of 16 on day 2 of the series decider Test between India and Australia at Dharamsala.
Jadeja has become the third all-rounder in Test cricket history to take 50 scalps and score 500 runs in one Test season.
Sir Jadeja has 509 runs and 68 wickets under his belt and still counting in 13 Tests this season.
Indian legend Kapil Dev had recorded the distinction in the season of 1979-80 while Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson had achieved the feat in 2008-09.
During the unbeaten innings of 16, Jadeja reached another elite list of all-rounders by surpassing a mark of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in Tests.
Jadeja must be happy to achieve these feats during the best time of his Test career as an all-rounder for team India. In recent times, he has developed himself as a genuine wicket taking bowler and even he has surpassed his spin partner Ravichandran Ashwin in the ICC Test bowler ranking as well. Jadeja is currently the leading bowler in Test rankings.
In the ongoing series, Jadeja has picked up 22 wickets and he is also the leading wicket-taker.
