The voice of Indian cricket Harsha Bhogle will soon be seen again in the commentary box as the official broadcasters of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday hinted that Bhogle could be seen back in action in the 10th season of the T20 tournament.
EVP and business head, sports cluster Sony Pictures Networks India, Prasana Krishnan said, "It's our intention to get him back in the studio. However, we have some paperwork formalities left but in all likelihood, we may see him doing commentary in the upcoming IPL.”
Bhogle is one of the most popular faces behind the camera and for more than a year now he has been missing from the commentary box since he had a stand-off with the former BCCI administration.
Apparently, it all began when Bhogle's comments were not well received by former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and team officials.
The official broadcasters also stated that they would be organizing various promotional activities across India across 35 cities in India during the upcoming season of IPL. Talking about the same, Krishnan said, "Our idea is to bring in human element into every match. Every fan will have a story to tell which would be unique than the stats.”
Apart from English (Sony SIX) and Hindi (Sony MAX) commentary, this year’s IPL can also be heard in Sony's three regional language channels of Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu.
The Bengali commentators will be Ranadeb Bose, Joydeep Mukherjee, Abhishek Jhunjhunwalla, Saradindu Mukherjee and Subroto Banerjee.
