Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is impressed by Umesh Yadav-led Indian pacers, who maintained the pressure on the tourists with a spectacular performance in the four-match Test series.
The pacer from Vidarbha has picked up 17 wickets from 4 Tests, including three wickets he took on day three in Dharamsala, which helped India to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Ganguly told IANS, “To see an Australia team on the back foot against Indian fast bowling is a great sign. Umesh to me has been bowling really well. I hope he carries on the good form with the ball.”
The legendary skipper also heaped praise on chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who set the tone for India with a four-wicket debut in Australia’s first innings at Dharamsala.
Dada further added about Kuldeep Yadav, “Hopefully it's the beginning of something very good. He is young. He will learn. Credit should go to (Anil) Kumble for giving him an opportunity. End of the day it's the bowlers who will pick 20 wickets for you to win test matches.”
