Australian captain Steve Smith said that he was disappointed that the BCCI uploaded a video showing Ravindra Jadeja and Matthew Wade in a heated altercation on day three of the final Test in Dharamshala.
"Yeah, I was a little bit disappointed that you know the BCCI sifts through archives to find a conversation in the field that was happening between Matty and Jadeja. You know I think it has happened between both sides throughout the series, so the fact that they have done that to us is pretty disappointing,” said Smith in the after match press conference.
Things got heated on Monday, as Jadeja was playing a blistering innings and taking the game away from Australia with a brilliant 50. Matthew Wade started chirping from behind the stumps saying he can click a selfie while wielding a sword and put it on Instagram. Jadeja approached the square leg umpire and told him that he will also reply if Wade doesn’t stop sledging him.
Wade stopped after receiving a warning from umpire Marais Erasmus, but things boiled over when Glenn Maxwell was given LBW and Jadeja, allegedly used a common north Indian slang as Maxwell was departing.
Wade angrily tried to confront Jadeja, but Ashwin was seen pacifying Wade and sending him away from an enraged Jadeja. The umpires had to chat with Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane during the match to keep his players in check.
Jadeja later revealed in good humor saying, "I just told Wade that once the match is over and you are free, I will take you out for dinner.”
