Stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane has become only the second Indian to win his first matches in all the three formats as captain. Rahane won his first ODI and T20I in Zimbabwe and now won his first Test as captain in Dharamshala.

Rahane captained the team after Virat Kohli withdrew from the final Test due to his shoulder injury and Rahane’s cool and calm demeanor was instrumental in India keeping pressure on Australians. He was also given credit for bringing in left arm Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in the team as the 3rd spinner, as he picked up 4 crucial wickets in first innings.

Rahane tweeted,” It was an important task at hand, glad that the team supported me for the ultimate result! Thank you everyone who believed in me and Team.
