Gautam Gambhir, one of the India's most finest opening batsman has come in support of his old friend, and current Indian Cricket Team skipper, Virat Kohli. Gautam Gambhir who has known Virat since his days with Delhi, reckons Virat would never miss an international game for any other tournament.
Couple of days ago, former Australian skipper, and current Gujarat Lions head coach, suggested the Indian skipper Virat missed out on the last Test, as he was saving himself for the IPL Season 10, which is to start from April 6.
Speaking to CNN, Kolkata Knight RIders' skipper said, "That’s absolutely not valid. I feel that someone who’s playing for their country and captaining it would never want to miss a Test match and would definitely want to play for India more than any other tournament. That’s always been the case,”
He further added,“Knowing Virat he would have never done that and these people, look if you want to be in the headline you can say anything you want and it’s just about making a headline or trying to get your name in the press by making such statements. If you don’t know the extent of the injury you should not be talking about it.”,
Gambhir Concluded, by asking to concentrate on cricket, rather than one or individual, “You should stop targeting one or two individuals, in a team sport there’s no point targeting one or two individuals, you should talk about the cricket,Taking someone individually or blaming someone individually or personally is something which should not work … it’s very immature.”
