Indian batsman Suresh Raina feels that the Indian team thoroughly deserved to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy because of their collective effort. Raina arrived in Rajkot for the preparations of the upcoming season of IPL as he the captain of the Gujarat Lions team.
Talking to reporters, Raina said, “It was a collective effort, Indian team played as a unit and deserved to win the Test series against Australia.”
Indian team defeated Australia in the four-match Test series by eight wickets in the final Test in Dharamsala and conquered one of the most controversial and hard-fought bilateral competition in recent times.
The southpaw also hailed praises for his IPL teammate and India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He said, “Jadeja has been in terrific form, I congratulate him for his all-around performance that helped India to regain Border-Gavaskar trophy and Gujarat Lions will keen to take advantage of his great form.”
According to the sources, the Head Coach Brad Hodge and bowling coach Heath Streak will be joining the GL team by March 31, while Jadeja and Brendon McCullum, are expected to join the team by April 2.
